Michael helped open Earnscliffe's BC office in September 2004. With over 15 years experience in politics and government, Michael provides his clients with strategic council aimed at ensuring they are part of the decision making process. Having worked as both a senior political aid in Ottawa and as regional official in BC, Michael brings a strong inside understanding of the complexity of modern government.
Since joining Earnscliffe, Michael has worked with a broad spectrum of leading BC and global companies, not-for-profits, and First Nations, as they navigate through the public policy development process in Victoria and Ottawa. His current portfolio of clients includes those in the health, transportation, energy, tourism and retail sectors.
Previously, Michael served as the Manager of Government Relations and Public Consultation for the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority. There he helped secure additional funding for the Canada Line and ran consultations that saw the largest expansion of transit service in Metro Vancouver. Before that, Michael worked in Ottawa, acting in various policy and advisory roles, including Special Advisor – British Columbia to the Minister of National Revenue; Minister of Fisheries and Oceans; and Minister of Natural Resources Canada, and Senior Minister for British Columbia. Michael was responsible for all policy files effecting BC and was the chief liaison with the government of BC.
Michael received a B.A. in Communications from Simon Fraser University.
